Connecticut Aikikai was created with the purpose of teaching, spreading, and perpetuating the fundamentals of philosophy, discipline, and teachings of Aikido as established by its founder, Morihei Ueshiba.
Our dojo has been a New Haven landmark for over thirty years. Our instructors have their experience gained under the guidance of previous chief instructors Juba Nour Shihan, Yahe Solomon Shidoin, and Michael Sidebottom Sensei. With our long-term, dedicated members, we strive to bring dynamic practice to the dojo, and to keep alive the spirit of traditional Aikido as it was passed onto us by our Senseis.
Visitors are always welcome and we highly encourage all prospective students to come by to observe a class. All visiting Aikidoka are welcome to train in this dojo regardless of their Aikido affiliation. We ask that you introduce yourself to the instructor, sign a waiver, and pay a small mat fee.
